We are pleased to welcome Dr. Bronwyn Purcell to the Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Purcell is a graduate of Cornell University, a native of the area, and a former Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital employee, who worked as a Veterinary Technician before earning her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Purcell is a member of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. She was an active member of Cornell University’s Aquavet, a program in aquatic veterinary medicine. She cares for dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets, with a special interest in cats, rescue dogs, and all animals with a big personality, including Norwegian Forest Cats and Standard Poodles.
In addition to her DVM degree, she was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and dabbled in professional photography and acting, as a member of the Veterinary Players. Upon graduation she lived in Brooklyn and practiced medicine in a busy, prestigious animal hospital in Manhattan. She is happy to once again be close to her family in Ridgewood and Glen Rock, and to the clients, patients, and staff of the Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Purcell lives with her husband, Justin, who is an architect, and her three cats; Fiona, a Domestic Long Hair, Oskar, a Siamese mix, and Merlin, a Turkish Angora. She also has a 70 gallon planted aquarium with a variety of Fancy Goldfish.
