DANGEROUS HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

o Medications (prescription and over-the-counter)

o Dental Floss
o Socks, Nylons, and Underwear

 

 

TOXIC PLANTS

o Many common houseplants such as aloe, ferns, palms, and philodendrons. 
o Cut flowers such as lilies, tulips, and azaleas.

HARMFUL FOODS

o Chocolate
o Grapes and Raisins
o Onions
o Xylitol (common artificial sweetener in gum, mints, candy)

 

 

TROUBLE AREAS

o Doors, Windows, and Balconies: secure doors and windows so that pets cannot run away or get injured in a fall
o Electrical Cords: can cause electrocution if chewed while plugged into an outlet
o Fireplace: flames and ash can cause serious burns
o Toilets: toilet water is not healthy to drink. Remember to keep the lid closed.
o Washer and Dryer: your pet can easily crawl into the washer or dryer without your knowledge. Keep the appliance doors closed.
