Avian Care

Birds are great companions, and can welcome you home with their songs, chatter, and antics. Our avian veterinarians can perform many services for your bird, and maintaining health is a priority. Birds are often prey in the wild, so it is instinctual for them to hide illness. This is why regular physical exams are so important, and your observations are key. If your bird shows any signs of illness, early treatment is vital.

Since few pets allow brushing at home, regular professional care is important to avoid tartar build up, gum disease, and infection, which can spread bacteria throughout the body to organs such as the liver, heart, and kidneys with potentially fatal results. We can help your pet avoid the pain and dangers of dental disease with ultrasonic cleaning and treatments as needed.

Spayed and neutered pets live happy and healthy lives, and their owner's have the peace of mind that comes with knowing their pet's offspring will not end up homeless or in a shelter. The Humane Society estimates that there are between six and eight million homeless animals in the United States. That is why we urge pet owners to have their dogs, cats, or other pets spayed or neutered. Doing so can help save lives. It can also help prevent certain diseases, such as the life-threatening uterine infection called pyometra, prostate disease, and many more.

Obedience Training/Behavior Modification

Early training is instrumental to a happy relationship with your pet and behavioral modification is crucial when problems develop. Living with an untrained dog can be stressful for the dog, as well as his human companion. We offer a positive approach to obedience training to make learning fun for you and your dog. Our classes help you build a relationship with your dog, to train him to give you his attention and respond to verbal cues, and teach him the foundation behaviors, which are necessary for all future training and learning.
